Texas governor E.M. Pease originally granted the land now encompassing the Denia area of Denton County to Ezekiel Boon in 1857. We take our name from the Denia Recreation Center and Park located in our neighborhood. The Denia Area now contains over 1,000 homes. The Denia Area Community is a well-established neighborhood that includes various types of housing. Some homes were built over 50 years ago, while new homes are still being built. Our diversity in housing offers starter cottages for young couples as well as spacious custom homes. The Denia Community has been designated a Special Area Planning District by the City of Denton. This designation allows us to preserve our unique features, address area needs and renovate aging facilities.
Denton is located on Interstate 35 at the top of a triangle. I-35W goes southwest to Fort Worth. I-35E goes southeast to Dallas. Highway 380 goes from east to west through the northern half of Denton and within the city of Denton is called "University Drive." It is one of the major shopping areas on the northern side of the city. Highway 377 goes from north to south through the city and on the southern end of the city is called "Fort Worth Drive.".
The Denia Community is bordered by I-35E to the North, Highway 377 (Carroll/Fort Worth Drive) to the East, Bonnie Brae to the West, and Roselawn to the South. The Denia area is directly across I-35E from the University of North Texas and within a short drive to Texas Woman's University. The area is home to a number of university professors and employees, as well as those who are interested in residing in an established neighborhood.er>

In a survey recently sent to 800 of our homeowners, our neighborhoods' top ratings were for having good friendly neighbors and for being a quiet, safe environment. Everyone likes the convenient access to I-35 and to downtown Denton and shopping. We consider our neighborhood a good place to live and raise a family.
